Welcome back to Westlawn golf course for a new year of golf, I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and is primed up for a big year. There have been some changes with our event sponsors for 2016. After many years of sponsoring our Stableford Championship event Wykes Tyrepower has decided to take a break, we as a club would like to thank Wykes Tyrepower for their sponsorship. The club would like to welcome aboard The Grafton Motor Group who will take over the Stableford event sponsorship for 2016 and hopefully for many years to come. A good field took to the fairways on Sunday for our first official event of 2016, a single Stableford. The best score of the day went to A Grade winner Paul Sutton with 20 points closely follow by B Grade winner Geoff McInerney with 19 points and George Mallison also with 19 and Rod Jackson and Peter Chessell both with 18. There were no Waterboy memberships that I have heard about from Sunday but I am sure it will not be long before the memberships start to roll in. Next Sunday will be a 4BBB Stableford event. Starters will be D Clark and R Jackson with J Armstrong and J Ellis to handle the results. Sunday is a CRJC race day so the course has to be vacated by 10.30am. Sunday January 31 will be a Stroke event for the GDS Westlawn Golf Club Patrons sponsored Monthly Medal. Starters will be A Atkinson and G Jackson with C Doggett and D Lynch to handle the results.
