Equestrian competition at South Grafton

Clarence Valley Working Equitation Club is hosting a Championship event on Saturday and Sunday August 17-18, at Hawthorne Park, South Grafton.

Entries are expected from Sydney, Tamworth and Queensland. Local judges have been invited and also from outside the area.

It’s an exciting time for members as an event of this calibre will attract riders from outside the area and will expose our riders to more competition, which in turn lifts the standard in general.

Clarence Valley riders competed creditably at the Working Equitation National Championships at Tamworth in May this year. The very highest degree of Masters Level will be offered through to Introductory Level where riders and horses are just starting out.

Northern Agri Services, BCU and Horseland are our major sponsors so far, other sponsors are Strong Performance, Terri Campbell, Carleen Cats, South Grafton Medical Centre, Pullens Produce /Hygain, Newcombes Saddlery and Hayes Stockfeed. Prizemoney and or vouchers will be offered for Champions and Reserve.

Saturday will see the dressage and maneability phases contested and Sunday morning will be the final and exciting speed rounds. Prize giving to Champions and Reserves will be approx 12 noon. Sponsors will be invited to present awards. Spectators are most welcome to attend and watch this exciting skilful sport.
