Darrie Nightingale wins 2nd Monthly Medal Round at Yamba
Forty seven ladies competed in the Medal round at Yamba on Wednesday when Darrie Nightingale was the winner in A Grade with 72 net. Runner-up was Lynne White 78c/b and winning the gross with 90 was Jennifer Fagan.
B Grade winner was Jane Bonner, still on her winning streak, with 75 net from Gwen Hall 78. Gross winner was Jill L Brown 109. Medal winners were Darrie Nightingale – A Grade, Jane Bonner – B Grade and Sandra Russo C Grade. Winning a ball each for putting was Carolyn Chester A and Glenda Smith B. Pins were won by Kathy Parker – Yamba Medical Centre 3 and also The Shoe Boutique 12, Deirdre Gough – Yamba Florist 3/2, Lyn Rowland – Yamba Pro Shop 9, Kim Lipscombe – Yamba Fair Butchery 10, Darrie Nightingale (where another 5 centimetres would have given her a hole-in-one) – Clovelly Fashions 17 and visitor Fiona Groom – The Block 17/2. Overall best putter was Glenda Smith 29c/b and John’s Free Lesson was won by Alison Caller. Ball run-down was to 79.
Give-aways were won by Carolyn Chester – Civic Video, Linda Duke-Yonge – Priceline Pharmacy, Lyn Rowland – The Friendly Grocer, Glynis Hall – Yamba Florist, Sandra Wallace – Ann’s Pearls, Gwen Hall – The Mexican Restaurant and Penny Cope – The Corner Store. The raffle, donated by Lexi Walker and raising $91 was won by Carrie Aitken.
Four Yamba ladies took themselves to the 2016 Tenterfield Ladies Open on Thursday April 7, and the combination of Jane Bonner and Julie Campbell were the front 9 Division 3 winners in the 4BBB Stableford.
A Four Person Ambrose was attracted 47 on Friday and the winning team was Glenda Smith, Lyn Rowland, Lina Holden and Verna Wright with 63.5 followed by a three-person team comprising Penny Cope, Lucy Thompson and Darrie Nightingale 64 1/6. The best putting team was Moira Morow, Jenny Macqueen, Sandra Wallace and Meg Kulmar with 21c/b.
NTPs went to Darrie Nightingale – Tom’s Chinese Restaurant 3, Maggie Julian – Retireinvest 3/2 and Lina Holden – Yamba’s Fisho 12. Balls went to 65.5.
The Saturday comp of 5 players was won by Carolyn Chester 31 followed by Julie Campbell 27.
