Wunderlich wins A Grade

A field of 147 players enjoyed the Yamba links on Thursday all out to contest the midweek Stableford competition, with young Yamba Junior Reilly Wunderlich making his debut in A Grade and taking home 1st with 40pts. Not bad for a 12 year old. Second in A Grade was Greg Wyllie with 35pts and 3rd went to Scott Stratford with 34pts. A Reserve Grade winner was Ray Robinson from Peregian Springs with 35pts on a count back from Ross Allomes 35 and 3rd went to Danny Quin 34pts c/b. In B Grade Dave Schwarz had the score of the day with 42pts Peter Caller was 2nd with 41pts and 3rd went to Ron Bines with 38pts. C Grade saw a vast improvement in the scores from last week’s 32pts winners, with Stephen Dorrell return 40pts, 2nd went to Donny O’Brien with 34pts and 3rd was Geoff Butler with 33pts on a count back. NTPs were: On the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Col Ayton 161cm, on the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Harry Peacock 270cm, on the SeaFire 10th Dave Schwarz 148cm, the Yamba Barber shop 12th Peter Sweetman 272cm and on the SeaFire 17th Kevin Eckersley finished 296cm. Balls for the day went to 33 neat. Four Ball Stroke A great field of 140 players came out to contest the 4bbb Stroke match play qualifier with players many teams shooting low scores. Winners of the day with a great round of 61nett were last year’s Match Play winners Paul Thompson and Chris Durrington, runners up on a count back were Steve Baker and Graham Niland with 62nett on a count back from great team player Greg LaForest and Neil Drummond 62 nett, 3rd went to Rock Bailey and Dale Pigram with 63 on a count back from Ken Dewar and Phillip McDougall 63 and 6th place went to Robbie Jillett and Tony Burley with 64nett on a count back. Sunday Mixed Forty four players chased the Sunday mixed with the winning team consisting of Bruce and Lexie Walker returning 45pts, 2nd went to Paul and Lilly Reid with 43pts on a count back from Sandra Wallace and Warren Hughes 43pts. Nearest to the Pins were; On the SeaFire 3rd Greg LaForest and Tina Earp, on the Kahbu Hair 9th Guy Carpenter and Margaret Solomon, on the Bloke Café 10th went to Guy Carpenter and Julie Campbell, on the Sassafras Pizza and Pasta 12th Doug Luckie and Chris Harris.
