CRDWBA District Pennants

After having to abandon District Pennant in 2020, bowlers in the CRDWBA are excited to again be contesting this competition, which got underway last week.

In Grade 3, after two rounds it is Iluka leading the way on 10 points, with two maximum wins. They scored a great 5-0 win over Yamba at Yamba and then backed it up with another 5-0 against Red Rock at home.

Iluka is well clear of GDSWBC on 6 following their 5-0 win over South Grafton at home, and 1-5 loss to Yamba at Yamba. South Grafton, though, took the maximum points against Maclean at South in Round 2, and come in next on 5.

Yamba and Red Rock both sit on 4, with Maclean on 1.

Results for Round 1: Red Rock 47 d Maclean 37 (4-1); Iluka 49 d Yamba 38 (5-0); GDSWBC 44 d South Grafton 26 (5-0).

Round 2: Iluka 44 d Red Rock 33 (5-0); South Grafton 42 d Maclean 31 (5-0); Yamba 52 d GDSWBC 32 (4-1).

This week, in Round 3: Red Rock hosts South Grafton, Iluka is at home to GDSWBC and Yamba travels to Maclean. And in Round 4: GDSWBC will take on red Rock at Grafton, South Grafton plays Yamba at home and Maclean will host Iluka.

Meanwhile, in Grade 4, things are very tight with three sides having had 5-0 wins. Yamba had a big win over GDSWBC, 5-0 in the first game at home. But the Grafton ladies rebounded to themselves score a big 5-0 win over Iluka in Grafton.

Also in Round 1, Maclean downed Iluka 5-0, while South Grafton had the bye. Yamba had the bye in round 2, and South Grafton at home had a 5-0 win over Maclean.

Consequently Yamba, GDSWBC, South Grafton & Maclean are all on 5 points with Iluka yet to score, but with a bye in this grade the picture isn’t too clear yet.

Results from Round 1: Yamba 52 d GDSWBC 22 (5-0) and Maclean 43 d Iluka 34 (5-0).

Round 2: GDSWBC 62 d Iluka 28 (5-0) and South Grafton 52 d Maclean 42 (5-0).

Round 3 on Tuesday has Yamba at home to Iluka and GDSWBC hosting South Grafton, while Maclean has the bye. Then on Thursday in Round 4, Maclean will play Yamba in Maclean, Iluka will travel to South Grafton and GDSWBC will have the bye.

Details of these games and an update on the pointscore will appear in next week’s Independent.
