Changed traffic conditions on Big River Way (formerly Pacific Highway) at Coldstream River Bridge

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions next week on Big River Way (formerly the Pacific Highway) south of Tyndale to carry out inspection and load testing on Coldstream River Bridge.

Work to set up the site will be carried out on Monday 25 May, with inspection work to be carried out under the bridge between 7am and 5pm on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 May.

Load testing preparation will be carried out between 9pm and 6am on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May, with load testing to be carried out on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May, weather permitting.

Traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane, alternate flow, while testing equipment is being set up.

The bridge will be closed for up to 10 minutes at a time while load testing is carried out.

Delays will be kept to a minimum and every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience to road users. Access to the bridge during closures will be provided for emergency vehicles if required.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of motorists and workers.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, drive to the conditions, and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
