A low number of entries amidst a packed national events calendar has resulted in the Big River Ski Club Committee announcing the unfortunate cancellation of the 2023 Grafton Bridge to Bridge Ski Classic.

After undergoing a format change earlier this month, the popular annual event was scheduled to take place on September 30 and October 1 as the King of the Clarence and was to comprise a 60km course and 80km course across both days.

Speaking with the Clarence Valley Independent last week, event organiser Mark Stephenson said while it was a difficult and disappointing decision to make, the committee remain focused on ensuring the event makes a successful return in 2024.
