BMX – racing week in… week out

Last weekend was a big weekend of BMX racing down the east coast of NSW, three tracks in two days Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Terrigal, two families from Clarence Valley, the Polsens and the Marshes made their way down to race in the annual event and performed very well. Emjay Polsen ended up with a 2nd from Maitland and Lake Macquarie; Joel Polsen 2nd Maitland, Lake Macquarie and Terrigal; Josh Marsh 4th Maitland, 1st Lake Macquarie, and 2nd at Terrigal; Tahlia Marsh got a 3rd at Maitland, 1st at Lake Macquarie and a 1st at Terrigal. A great effort all round by these guys not only to travel down but to do so well, Clarence Valley BMX club is blessed to have a lot of good quality riders and the families to back them. Back at the hometown track in South Grafton, the cold weather didn’t keep anyone away, with a full field of riders braving through the chilly evenings and with the new season starting off we had a lot of new riders getting amongst it, as well as some old riders returning for a bit of fun… more the merrier. A new addition to the Clarence Valley BMX Club is a little pump track, this track is designed to help riders to propel their bikes with the motion of pumping the bikes around the track and not peddling, as you pump through the rollers, riders generate power and go faster and faster, this motion is used in racing and the training on this secondary track will be great for all riders. A big thanks to all that helped build the track and to Grant Marsh and his magic machine, well done guys it works a treat. Racing will be on this Saturday afternoon come on down and join in on the fun, we have full canteen facilities that can meet all your needs and the show will be action packed, come and see us at the track Mark Korb
