The Bluff Point Quilters, long term supporters of the Lawrence Museum, showed their support for the Museum’s new shed, with a very generous cash donation of $275. Lawrence Museum president, Robert Forbes, expressed his appreciation of the donation from the Quilters. He explained, ”The Lawrence Museum committee, concerned that many of our rural and river heritage items are in danger of being destroyed and lost, aims to build a new shed this year, to preserve and display these significant items.” Rob said the Museum now has a Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lawrencemuseum and also a crowdfunding website, www.gofundme/lawrencemuseum. The sites provide more detail about the museum and the project and the gofundme site is an easy way for anyone to donate to this project. Every donation will help.” The Bluff Point Quilters, a group of about thirteen ladies, fundraise and donate money annually to support local charities. This year they decided the Lawrence Museum’s New Shed and the Westpac Helicopter were worthy recipients. The Quilters formed in 1997, and meet each Friday, to enjoy the camaraderie and share their love of patchwork and quilting. In 2000, they made quilts for the Paralympic Games in Sydney. New members are always welcome and can contact Grace Trench on 6643 2010, if they would like to come along. Roz Jones
