The club is looking forward to hosting the Watersports – Have a Go day on September 24 (in conjunction with Maclean Outdoors) where anyone can come to the club to try out sailing, kayaking, stand up paddle boards and the latest one with pedals, all for free, just for fun. In sailing news, with Spring officially here but the weather still a little cool, a hardy few Sabre sailors had some close tactical racing in boats all of the same design. With winds oscillating like a desk fan, fresh and gusty at times, sunny and then rain, and a strong run up tide the conditions were challenging. The girls eventually saw off the boys, with Denise second in both races, her sailing is much improved. Club racing continues each Saturday in the afternoons, with Saturday morning 10am -12 noon devoted to introductory sailing for all ages. The club has boats and equipment to learn.
