Maclean Ladies two day tournament was a great success

Our two day tournament held on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 August was a great success. We had approximately 90 ladies on Monday to play a two person Ambrose and about 50 on Tuesday for the single event. The Green staff had the course beautifully prepared. We had ladies from a number of clubs in our region and from away and we wish to thank them all for their support. We again thank Clarence Valley Council, Townsend General Store and Chris Picton for their generous sponsorship. Also thanks to Shelly from the Bistro and the bar staff who did a great job over the two days. Winners on Monday were Sheree Forsythe and Ruth O’Hara. The best visitors prize was won by Amanda Carr and Lynn Robertson from Armidale. Runners-up were Val George and Lynne Briggs, Judy Parkes and Sally Weeks, Cathy Ayres and Carol Young. NTP’s: 2nd – R. Five Maclean ladies, Kim Wiblen, Di Moore, Molly Plunkett, Kim Moore and Cathy Ayres travelled to the Central Coast with golfers from Tweed, Grafton, Yamba, Tenterfield, Nambucca and Macksville last week to contest NSW Golf Country Week. Kim Moore starred and won the Div 2 36 hole Gross event. This was played on two very challenging courses and is a great achievement for Kim. Golf NSW presented Kim with a perpetual trophy, which unfortunately she was not able to bring home, and a gift card in recognition of her efforts. An 18 hole Foursomes event was played on Thursday at Magenta Shores and Molly Plunkett and Cathy Ayres won the Div 1 Nett Championship. Cathy Ayres
