Best little course in the valley to host charity golf day

The Clarence Valley’s Lawrence Golf Club may not be largest in the area, but is big in helping the local community. Plans are well under way for a Charity Golf day at the club on Saturday, July 2 which will see all proceeds going to the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter. The Club is also holding a memorial day in memory of Lindsay Heynes in conjunction with the Charity Day. The Golf Day will hold an 18 and 9 hole Stroke event that will tee off from 8am and 9am on the Saturday morning. According to the Golf Club Treasure Elaine Heynes, the day should be a great success. “We have been planning the event for some time and have been fortunate in securing up to $1000 in prizes and hope the Valley’s golfing community will come along on the day and help the Westpac Helicopter,” she said. “But even if you do not play golf come along and join us for lunch and refreshments after midday and take part in the monster raffle for a flat screen TV,” she added. Tickets are available at the Lawrence General Store and the Club. All golfers are welcome to play the best little course in the valley and to try your luck in the raffle. Stroke event playing fees are $20 per person and include green fees, buffet lunch and entertainment. Non playing visitors can enjoy lunch and entertainment for $10. Bookings can be made with Elaine on 0410 439 512. Allan Sams
