Awards presentation wraps up Bobcats year

The Maclean Bobcats Football Club bought their season to a close in a celebration at major sponsor Maclean Bowling Club on Friday night. A generous turn out of players and supporters were on hand to recognise the standout performers in the Bobcats senior teams in 2022.

The night started with recognition of two of Maclean FC’s finest contributors over an extended period of time. One of the main drivers of women’s football in the area, Rebekah Teni, was given Life Membership for her prolonged dedication to the game as a player, coach, administrator to name just a few of her roles. Next up was another Life Membership awarded to Aaron Bylos, one of the Bobcats finest ever players and two-time premiership winner with an equally impressive off field contribution. Those two well deserved awards got the night off to a brilliant start with all in attendance giving rapturous applause along with a splattering of tears of happiness.

The final award was for the Clubperson of the Year and the applause received for Ken Foulds as he approached the stage to receive the John Allen Memorial Trophy, named in honour of his good mate, nearly lifted the roof off the Maclean Bowling Club.

That brought the curtain down on another year for the Clarence Valley’s only Premier League football club. It also signifies the beginning of preparation for season 2023. The Bobcats are now looking for coaches for their senior teams for 2023. Anyone interested should contact the club via our club webpage or Facebook as we would like to lock in our coaches as soon as possible.
