Surfing NSW and Mad Mex form fresh new partnership

Surfing NSW and Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill will come together in a new corporate partnership that will see the fresh Mexican group at a range of competitions over the course of 2020 and 2021.

After joining Surfing NSW as a support partner in 2020, the partnership will ramp up with Mad Mex bringing their healthy burritos back to the beaches for 2021.

The partnership was established over the course of the 2019 and 2020 NSW Surf Summit events.

Mad Mex will partner with the 2021 NSW Pro Surf Series World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) events in NSW and also have naming rights to the 2021 Mad Mex Pro QS1000 rated event in Maroubra Beach.

The partnership will also see Surfing NSW shining a light on the Mad Mex Fresh Fuel for Life (FFFL) program. The program provides junior athletes with an opportunity to pursue their goals in a big and inspirational way. The program consists of 12 – 15-year-old boys and girls who are excelling in their chosen sport. The FFFL team includes junior athletes, mentors and partners, all with one shared goal – to help get the most out of life. Hughie Vaughan (Shelly Beach), Jake Feher (Maroubra) and Ruby Trew (Northern Beaches) are three NSW surfers who have recently signed up to the team.

Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden expressed his excitement at the growth of the partnership.

“This is a thrilling partnership and we can’t wait to work alongside Mad Mex with our wide array of surf events, competitions and also their Fresh Fuel for Life program. We were thrilled to have them on-site at the 2020 Vissla Central Coast Pro and we’re excited to see them at more competitions in 2021.”

Mad Mex Founder Clovis Young echoed the same sentiments.

“We’re super excited to partner with the team at Surfing NSW. After a day in the surf, nothing beats a burrito and we are proud to sponsor the sport of surfing that we love. In February we launched our Fresh Fuel For Life (“FFFL”) youth sponsorship program at the 2020 Vissla Central Coast Pro. We’re excited to build on that with our corporate, Pro Surf Series and Havaianas Grommet State Titles partnerships.”

Mad Mex will also be added as a support partner at numerous competitions such as the Havaianas NSW Grommet Titles and the 2021 Port Stephens Pro.
