Rest Point Hotel Social Fishing Club Copmanhurst

Secret fishing spots were given a caning for this May month, but before I report on this month I omitted to mention in last month’s fishing report that Col C fished down the back of their property (here it comes) in one of their private secret waterhole fishing spots catching two grunters. At this month’s weigh in lots of fishing seems to have been also carried out in secret fishing spots by members. The one armed bandit Tony M, recovering after shoulder surgery with his arm in a sling, fished with Greg, Michael and Andrew C down river at Oyster Channel Yamba netting a small catch of bream, flathead and catfish. Michael caught a forktail .465tcw and Andrew zero. Sunday David S went fishing with new member Don N both trying to follow Tony M to find his secret fishing spot. Tony caught a flathead .250tcw but no success for that pair. Lynn M fished at Winegrove and caught a couple catfish .950tcw. Chris G and Mal L weighed in some fabulous catches after fishing in open ocean in a number areas, hook broke the jaw out of a mackerel while Mal had the gaff in and tore a piece out of his finger. Chris’s tcw was 10.214 consisting of 4.338kg and 4.370kg spotted mackerel and 1.506kg trag, snapper and flathead. Mal’s 7.091tcw consisted of 4.625kg spotted mackerel, .934kg snapper, 1.230kg trag and .302kg flathead. New members Neil and Jake H fished down at Lawrence in their tinny catching three bream, some flathead and mullet. Jason, Belinda and Madison F headed down to Palmers Island and Jason said he caught 60 irritating flathead just sucking on the prawn bait and letting go.
