Yamba Ukes are a fun bunch of ukulele players who get together regularly to play ukulele, sing, and simply enjoy each other’s company.
All levels of players are welcome to come along and join in the fun. It’s a great way to meet new friends, as well as gain confidence to sing and play ukulele within a welcoming group of ukaholics.
Yamba Ukes are anticipating a busy month in September with a lot of practice taking place for the “Surfing the Coldstream festival” to be held in Yamba on October 17, where we will be participating in the street busking at the festival. All players and singers are encouraged to come along to practice, join in the fun and help make this a great performance.
The schedule of get togethers for Yamba ukes for September is as follows:
Wednesday 9th September -10am at Leche Cafe Coldstream St Yamba. This is a strumming session where we come together to play a little, sing a little, enjoy each other’s company and indulge in great coffee and cake. Gold coin.
Wednesday 16th September Yamba bowling club 7.30pm only for strum along session to practice for busking performance. Gold coin.
Wednesday 23rd September- 10am at Leche Cafe Coldstream St Yamba (as above).
Wednesday 30th September- Yamba bowling club 6pm for ukestration lesson $10, where we improve our ukulele skills and learn more about music theory in a fun atmosphere. This is followed at 7.30pm by the strum along session where we play, sing and harmonise resulting in a most enjoyable evening. All levels of players are welcome.
If you feel you need more? This may be just what you need- the Brisbane ukulele festival-SPRUKE, is on 3-4. Some Yamba ukaholics will be attending this which should be a lot of fun. Want to know more check out the SPRUKE website.
Hope to see some new faces soon in the “Land of Ukulele”
