Yamba Thursday Stableford

Thursday’s single Stableford saw 126 players gracing our course and with preferred lies on points seamed easy to come by. A Grade winner Scott Stratford had the equal best score of the day with 43pts, in 2nd place the inform Geoff Flett with 39pts and 3rd saw Craig Erskine with 38pts. A Reserve winner was soloist Greg LaForest with 38pts on a count back from Keith Cromack 38 and 3rd place went to Garry Payne 37pts. Robbie Jillett had a day out winning B Grade with 43 points from Dave Atkinson 40pts and 3rd was Vic Heron with 39pts. In C Grade Gordon McHugh returned 38pts giving him victory over Peter Russo 37pts and 3 saw Stephen Dorrell win the count back with 36pts. NTPs: On the 3rd SeaFire Steak and Seafood hole Ian Brockwell finished only 18cm from the cup, on the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Dave McQueen 156cm, on the 10th SeaFire hole Barry Fisher 128cm, on the Yamba Barber shop 12th Nick Anderson 154cm and on the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 17th Kane Hancock finished 376cm after a brilliant cover drive. Saturday Golf A field of 125 golfers played yet another Stableford competition with a few 4 BBB knockout matches taking place as well and with no preferred lies scores were back to normal. In B Grade Scott Dinham returned 40pts giving him 1st on a count back over Ted Davis who also had 40pts and 3rd was Paul Edgar with 37pts on a count back. Perry Robinson took out C Grade with 40pts from Michael Killeen 37pts and 3rd went to Laurie Arnott with 35pts on a count back.
