Sunday November 12 was a big day for the Yamba Shores Tavern Fishing Club with a massive $10,000 donation to four community focused organisations and assisting with the donations was Richie Williamson State Member for Clarence.
Iluka – Yamba Marine Rescue received $3,000; Westpac Rescue Helicopter received $3,000; Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club Nippers received $3,000 to fund new nipper boards and rounding out the $10,000 was the Yamba RSL Subbranch receiving $1,000 to cover the costs of Remembrance Day wreaths laid at the Yamba Cenotaph the day before.
Jennifer Dowd, Regional Partnership Officer, for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter noted on the day that the $3,000 donation the service was receiving, represented a total of $28,000 that the club had donated to the helicopter service of an 11-year period. She went on to say that it was these types of donations that are critical in providing funding to operate the helicopter and cover associated expenses.
Present of the day representing Yamba Shores Tavern Fishing Club were Club President Peter Stewart and Committee Members Allan Harding, Graham Bailey & Ron Jones. This $10,000 donation brought the total donated by the club over the years to $87,000.
