Yamba Red Cross fundraiser monster garage sale this weekend
Our branch is again participating in the North Coast Council’s Second Hand Garage Sale Day on Saturday, September 26.
We have been de-cluttering whilst Spring cleaning and have a variety of goods for sale, including a piano and some furniture. We hope to see you at 11 Shores Drive, Yamba from 7am. Members of the community are most welcome to donate any unwanted goods for us to sell as all proceeds go to the Australia Red Cross coffers.
Our members were pleased to return this month for our meeting at the recently refurbished and most tastefully decorated Roundhouse at Palm Lake Resort.
On September 17, seven of our members attended a most interesting and informative day at our Annual Zone 3 Conference held at the Grafton District Services Club Grafton and hosted by the members of Grafton Red Cross. A delicious lunch was served and we enjoyed the company of Red Cross members from Kempsey, Nambucca, Bellingen, Woolgoolga, Coffs Harbour and Grafton branches.
Plans are in place for our High Tea being held on Friday, October 9 at the Roundhouse, Palm Lake Resort. “Tea will be served” from 10am for a donation of $10. A reminder to the crafty minded that there is the competition for the best tea cosy presented on the day. There is also a prize for the most interesting cup and saucer displayed.
During the month the Yamba Red Cross Emergency Services kindly invited our members to a meeting where they confirmed and explained their commitment to the community and their program involving assistance in the event of disaster, such as bushfires, floods, storms etc. We all thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.
Next Blood Bank days are November 9-10 and 23-24 at the Yamba Bowling Club. Those wishing to become a blood donor please call 13 14 95 as you must be registered prior to the day.
