Yamba Nippers Cudgen success
It was a small but mighty team of Yamba Nippers, who competed at Cudgen on the weekend, representing Yamba in the Far North Coast Branch Titles.
U9’s Logan Miltiadou competed well in the beach sprints, flags and board race with his trademark grin.
U10’s Ben Morris competed in his favourite events, beach sprints and flags. He bought home a silver medal in the sprints.
U11’s Kalani Ives had outstanding results, bringing home gold medals in the surf swim, boards, ironwoman, and flags.
U11’s Malik Elabbasi placed 2nd in the surf swim and 6th in the ironman.
U11’s Lily Young competed strongly in both beach and water events and placed 5th in the surf swim and 6th in the ironwoman.
U11’s Yasmin Elabbasi won a bronze medal in the surf swim, placed 4th in the board race and 6th in the flags.
U12’s Carissa Miltiadou achieved great results across all events placing 2nd in the surf swim, 4th in the boards, 3rd in the ironwoman, 4th in flags and 5th in the beach sprints.
U13’s Josh Morris won silver in the flags and placed 4th in the beach sprints.
U14’s Jorden Elabbasi won gold in the surf race, and bronze in the board and ironman events.
In the team events on Sunday, it was a gold medal for the U11’s surf team of Lilly Young, Kalani Ives, Yasmin and Malik Elabbasi. The foursome also won bronze in the Cameron Relay and 5th in the beach sprint relay. Kalani, Malik and Yasmin teamed up to win bronze in the board relay. In the board rescue event, Kalani and Yasmin placed 4th and Malik and Lily placed 6th.
U14’s Jorden Elabbasi teamed up with other clubs and placed 2nd in the board relay and 3rd in the board rescue.
