Yamba lady golfers compete for annual 2bbb-v-Par Knockout

On a cold, but fine and sunny, day last Wednesday, 63 ladies vied in the qualifying round for the 2BBB-v-Par Knockout event. Winning the day were Dulcie Nurse and Tina Earp +9, with runners-up Margaret Solomon and Sue Scott scoring +8, followed by Carolyn Chester and Pauline McKinnon +7. Dulcie and Tina chose not to qualify for the knock-out, but 8 other pairs were selected on merit, and will attempt to knock each other out over the coming weeks. Ball run-down was to +4c/b and pin winners were: 3 Yamba Medical Centre – Jenifer Fagan and Jenifer also won the 17th Clovelly Fashions; 3/2 Yamba Florist – Glynis Meredith; 9/2 Yamba Pro Shop – Helen Collins (in the hole!); 10 Yamba Fair Butchery – Julie Campbell; 12 The Shoe Boutique – Glen Czarnota, and 17/2 The Block – Irene Williams. Nine holers winner was Trish White with 18 points from a field of 18, and Trish also won the pin on 12. Lucky prize winners were Meg Kulmar – Civic Video, Margaret Solomon – The Friendly Grocer, Ann Schuhmacher – Priceline Pharmacy, Carolyn Chester – The Mexican, Jo Petith – Yamba Physio and President Linda Duke-Yonge- Yamba Florist. Sylvia Cryer was the lucky winner of the raffle. Friday’s field was reduced to 37 due to the knock-out rounds being played and it was a Single Stableford which was won by Jo Petith 35c/b from Tina Louise Downes also 35. Running third was visitor Jennifer Clayton with 33c/b. NTP’s were won by Di Sweetman 3rd Tom’s Chinese Seafood Restaurant, Helen Golder 3/2 Retireinvest, Irene Williams 9th Peter Campbell Physiotherapy, Sandra Wallace 10th Kitchen to Table, Lee Daley 12th Yamba’s Fishos, and Tricia Gosling 17/2 Yamba Pharmacy. Balls went to 31 c/b. There were 10 Saturday players this week and the winner was Jane Bonner 35points from Julie Campbell 34. May the course be with you. Pauline McKinnon
