Yamba Day VIEW

For the month of August 27 ladies attended our luncheon meeting. We welcomed two visitors, one from Sydney, Leta Herthrington and a local, Jane Harris. Marie Rheinberger, a foundation member of Yamba VIEW was presented with her new Day VIEW badge. We as a club welcome you Marie and are thrilled to have you attached to our group. It is with great delight that we also welcomed back Judy Brown & Gwen Dowling. Due to Hospital Auxiliary commitments they were not always able to attend. Both these ladies are long standing Foundation members of Yamba VIEW. Yamba Day VIEW shared in the memories of Jo King & Leah Essex as our guest speakers. We were transfixed on the experiences these women had to share. Not only representing Yamba, or our country but our Diggers. These two women were part of a 13 strong contingent. Only 4 females within this group & a surf boat aptly named ‘The Spirit of the Clarence. This group along with Turkish & New Zealander representatives were part of a race held around the Anzac Peninsula. Being present at such a historic & palpable environment on such an occasion as the 100th Anniversary of Anzac was not lost on our members. We shared in their ‘goosebump’ memories & enjoyed the pictorial trip. Thank you ladies for sharing your experience with us. We all enjoyed a lovely meal with lively chatter to wind up the morning. Lucky door prize was won by Judy Brown & the raffle by Pat De Bomford. Our next meeting will be held on Monday 21st September. This is our ‘Back to School’ luncheon. Ladies you are encouraged to share in our ‘Muck Up Day’ & dress in appropriate school attire, if you wish. Relieving school Principal from Yamba Primary, Debbie Woods will be our guest speaker. New members & guests always welcome. Bookings/apologies call Lyn on 6646 3164 the Friday prior.
