The ‘Joy of Gardening’ will not be Meeting at the Treelands Drive Centre this month instead there will be a walk among the wild-flowers with Kate in the National Park on Friday 28 August.
We will meet at 9am at the Wooloweyah Hall for morning tea and a chat then a slow ramble through hopefully, a good display of wild flowers. BYO lunch for a picnic at the hall or Green Point or buy lunch at the Angourie Store.
On Saturday 12 September we have a coach trip, open to all CRU3A Members and partners, to Bellingen Spring Plant Fair, this is an informative market with stalls, demo’s and talks. Those not especially interested in plants could spend a few hours wandering about the historic town, we’ll stop at The Old Butter Factory Arts and Crafts and Sawtell Nursery and Café on the way home. The coach will leave Ferry Park at 7.30am, seats are still available at $17 each. Contact Ros 6646 0235 for reservations.
Also are there any members interested in visiting the Gold Coast Rose Society’s Australian National Rose Show at the Robina Community Centre, on Saturday 3 October 11am to 4.30pm and Sunday 4 October 9am -3.30pm, admission $4, there will be hundreds of flowers, floral displays, cake decorating display, potted roses for sale, cut roses, nursery products etc for sale and refreshments. A date for your diary Saturday 31 October, our next social function – a Rock and Roll evening at the Yamba Bowling Club, dinner and entertainment by Frankie and the Grey J’s, $15pp watch for further information.
