Yamba Championship rounds continue

Wednesday’s Championship Round 2 / 5th GNSW Round involved 60 ladies last week.

Results

Div 1: Winner was Sue Scott (72) ahead of Ann Groom (74 c/b). Darrie Nightingale was the gross winner (86), and Jennifer Fagan won the putting.

Julie Campbell starred by scooping the pool in Div 2, with scores of 98 gross and 69 nett. Julie also won the putting. Jo Simmons won r/up (73 c/b).

Terri Collingburn was the winner in Div 3 (72). Ann Schuhmacher played solidly to win the gross (108) and r/up (73). Jen O’Neill won the putting.

NTP’s: Yamba Medical Centre 3rd – Lee Daley; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Gwynne Thomas; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) – Gail Scobie; Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Julie Grant; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Darrie Nightingale; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – Bev Eckhardt and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Gail Scobie. Balls were awarded to 75 c/b.

In the nine-hole competition, Val Bofinger (20 pts) played excellent golf to win in a field of 9 ladies. Shellee Clare won the NTP on the 12th. Well done ladies!

Friday’s Championship Round 3 was played in ideal golfing conditions for its 58 players.

Results

The Div 1 winner was Jeannie Doolan (72) followed closely by r/up, Lee Daley (73). The gross winner, Darrie Nightingale, scored 88 and the putting was won by Gail Gore Brown.

Denise Ginn (71 and 101) was the Div 2 winner and gross winner. The r/up was Gillian Holst (72 c/b) and the putting was taken out by Jo King.

In Div 3, Terri Collingburn’s winning form (72) continued. The r/up and gross winner was Meg Kulmar (73 and 108), and Lyn Bartley won the putting.

Eleven ladies hit off in the Stableford competition last Saturday. Yamba member Carol MacPherson was welcomed, playing her first competition with Yamba ladies. Gwynne Thomas played an excellent game (39pts) and r/up was visitor Judy McTackett with 34 points. NTP was won by Tiffany Lee.
