Yamba biodynamic gardening workshop

Alan Johnstone, from Biodynamics Australia (pictured), introduced gardeners to the world of biodynamics from the teachings of Rudolph Steiner at a workshop held at the Yamba Community Garden last month.

He was supported by Mark Champion, longtime successful market gardener from Taree. There were 26 participants with interests in backyard gardening, fruit and nut production and cattle farming.

Alan grew up in Grafton before studying and then setting up Biodynamics Australia at Bellingen. His father, Don Johnstone, was the Director of National Parks and Wildlife Services and was instrumental in the establishment of a number of  prominent national parks and nature reserves throughout NSW.
