Yamba and Maclean to host State Pennant Titles

Yamba and Maclean are set to host the 2016 Bowls NSW State Pennant Titles over 3 days from 30 July to 1 August. The event has been contracted as part of Clarence Valley Council’s Sports Tourism program, which focuses on hosting sporting events that bring visitors to the area. The program works with eight local businesses, the Sports Tourism Partners, who contribute financially to grow the number of events held in the Clarence. The partners and Council invest in the program to bring a boost to the local economy. The expected economic benefit from the State Pennant Titles is $452,088, based on an expected 230 competitors and officials staying in the area for 3 nights. Bowls NSW will receive a hosting fee of $5,000 from the Sports Tourism program. Yamba and Maclean Bowling Clubs will work together with Bowls NSW to host the event at the respective clubs. There are seven grades and all are played simultaneously across the state. Yamba and Maclean will host Grade 3. Thanks to the Sports Tourism Partners, Angourie Rainforest Resort, Australia Post (Yamba and Grafton), Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort, GJ Gardner, Holiday Coast Meats & Small Goods, Kitchen to Table, Yoohoo McPhee and media partner the Clarence Valley Independent.
