Clarence Head Longboard members made a strong appearance at the Woolgoolga Malibu Classic on the weekend. While at times persuading spectators to huddle closely under tents, the temperamental weather did not dampen spirits. Frank Murphy achieved an outstanding result in the open men’s event placing 2nd. He also received a 2nd in the junior boys, with Clancy O’Neil 4th and Jay Thomson 6th. After his name was called out in the mystery draw, Ned O’Neil also gave the men a run for their money placing 3rd. Lily Ellis also received a 3rd in the Open women’s. For the past two years Clarence members have won longboards at the ‘Woopi’ event. This year was no exception as John Mansfield is now the excited owner of a brand new Clearwater surfboard.
