Will we have our own Hogan’s hero?

Ed, When penalty rates legislation comes before the House of Representatives will Kevin Hogan cross the floor for workers like his state counterpart did for the greyhounds? Recent polling shows that approximately 75% of PAGE voters believe penalty rates should be left alone or increased. (source: http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/economic-benefits-from-penalty-rate-cuts-not-tested-treasury-reveals-20170420-gvogcx.html). Government sources are still unclear on how much penalty rates cuts will cost ‘the economy’. What is clear however is regional economies can’t afford thousands of workers having their wages cut. Any reduction in take home pay of large majority of PAGE workers will not only hurt families in meeting rising living costs but also impact on businesses that rely on their wages being spent locally. Kevin Hogan was elected to be our voice in Canberra. It’s time to stand up and be counted. Sharryn Usher, Waterview Heights
