Thursday golf at Yamba

With the wild weather approaching, 134 golfers made the most of the dry conditions fighting it out for the mid week Stableford prizes. A Grade winner with 42 points was Greg Starr, 2nd went to Stewart Hass with 38pts on a count back from Dave McGregor 38. Big John Maguire won A Reserve grade with 38pts, 2nd went to Paul Curtis 36pts on a count back from Max Sweetman 36pts. The Peter’s won B Grade with Peter Caller taking 1st place with 39pts, 2nd was Peter Sharp with 36 on a count back from Peter Blom 36pts. Gordon McHugh had the score of the day with 44pts giving him C Grade easily over President Head Moran who returned a respectable 40pts and 3rd was Dennis Walpole with 38pts. NTPs: On the Seafire Steak and Seafood 3rd Col Lindsay at 73cm, the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Andy Wilson was 70cm, the SeaFire 10th was Greg LaForest at 173cm, the Yamba Barber Shop 12th went to Peter Norgrove from Links Hope Island who knocked it to 8cm and the SeaFire 17th was Paul Reid at 562cm. Balls for the day went to 34 with 18 on the back 9. Pennant news Due to the increment weather there were no matches played on the weekend subsequently our No 1 team and No 4 team made it through to the finals in a couple of weeks time.
