A large crowd attended the Team Aidan Mother’s Day Market on May 12 at the Grafton Racecourse.

Despite overcast conditions, several local families celebrated the special occasion while watching performances by Studio One Dance Academy (SODA), listening to the beautiful vocals of Sarah McKenna and live broadcasts from Loving Life FM 103.1, browsing a variety of market stalls, and enjoying a delicious barbecue breakfast while kids had their faces painted and played on the jumping castle and merry-go-round.

Veronica Balsamello from Team Aidan said it was great to welcome so many people to the event on the weekend, describing it as a huge turnout.

Krystal Weeks told the Clarence Valley Independent her kids Charlotte and Izaac decided to take her to the Team Aidan Mother’s Day Market as a surprise present.

“They told me we were going somewhere secret for Mother’s Day,” she explained.

“They bought me breakfast with their pocket money which they’d be saving up, and they also said they wanted to do something to help support Team Aidan.

“It was one of the best Mother’s Day presents I’d ever been given, and it was especially nice to support a local charity because everyone knows how hard Team Aidan works to help people in need.”

All proceeds raised from the event will go towards purchasing fuel vouchers for cancer patients at the Grafton Base Hospital (GBH) Oncology Unit.

At the time of publication, the total amount raised form the Team Aidan Mother’s Day Market was still being counted.

Team Aidan also extended their appreciation to their event sponsors including the Clarence River Jockey Club (CRJC) for supporting the Mother’s Day Market.
