Sydney organ expert at Lawrence Museum

Capture   Mr Hugh Knight, President of the Organ Music Society of Sydney, visited Lawrence Museum recently and delighted Museum staff and visitors by playing the Museum’s German Liepzig organ. Mr Knight, who is considered an expert on reed and pipe organs, praised the quality of the organ, the excellent condition and the gravitas of the sound. Mr Knight said, ”It is quite unusual to find an organ of German origin here, as most organs imported were from the USA, an made by the Eastley company.” The Liepzig organ was donated to the Museum by the Lawrence Uniting Church.
