Supporting our veterans and community

Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has announced Government funding for a community project in Chatsworth-Iluka that would benefit local veterans and their families. He said the Chatsworth-Iluka RSL Sub-branch would receive more than $4000 to purchase a public address system to hold social events like Bingo and community sing-alongs. “The Chatsworth-Iluka RSL sub-branch does a great job bringing the local veterans community together. However, they were limited in the social functions they could hold simply because they didn’t have a public address system,” Mr Hogan said. “After I discussed this with the branch, I organised this grant so they could hold bigger and better social events. “I encourage all ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community to apply for funding through the DVA Veteran and Community Grants program. “The dedication and hard work of local organisations such ensure veterans and their families receive services, support and opportunities that allow them to continue active roles in their communities.” From February 2018, Veteran and Community Grants will be available online through the Australian Government’s Community Grants Hub.
