South Grafton CWA Evening Branch

During the last couple of months the South Grafton CWA Evening Branch has been able to hear from some very good speakers discussing PNG, which is our country of study for this year.

At the June meeting Scott Campbell and Stewart Jonkliss were guests and gave a very comprehensive talk and slide show on their Kokoda treks, along with the history of the trail.

Lisa Crispin was the guest speaker at the July meeting and brought along an absolutely beautiful display of many different styles of crotchet and hardanger handicraft.

The ‘International Night’ was held on Saturday August 18 and a big thank you to our international officer Debbie for organising the night and arranging for Chris and Delwyn Smidt to be the guest speakers. Chris had been a teacher for some time in PNG and both he and Delwyn go back and forth frequently, and spoke of their time in PNG and a great variety of slides were shown during the evening. Members had prepared traditional food and an excellent night was had by all who attended.
