The Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort in Yamba was one of eight finalists in the Out & About with Kids Best of Family Travel Awards 2015 – in the Best Australian Family Holiday Park category. The resort’s manager, Andrew Parr, said: “We are really happy to be a finalist in this Australia-wide awards because they are readers’ choice. “We are here for our guests and we know we are on the right track when receiving these nominations.” The Mitchell family, whom has owned and developed the resort for the past 25 years, took back management of the property two years ago after leasing the property out for eight years, “with the goal of bringing the holiday resort back to being one of the best in the country”. “We have a great team here at The Blue Dolphin,” Mr Parr said. “This is one of the key components of our guests having a memorable time. “We are a family-run and operated business, and have experienced strong growth in the last two years. “We put this success down to the improvements to the park, including a new water park, snooker hall, swim-up pool bar and renovations and refurbishments on many of our accommodation types.” The NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Park, Gold Coast, Qld was named as the winner.
