My thanks to Steve Waltons letter (CVI 7/2/24), where he rightly criticises Councils sloppy regard for the Australian flag hung incorrectly on Australia Day and voted to rename Australia Day Awards to be Citizen of the Year Awards on a day other than Australia Day.

Would councillors please tell the voters why they do not like Australia Day, as it is celebrated and enjoyed by all proud Australians.
