Palm Lake Golf

A very chilly morning greeted the 22 players for the back 9 at Yamba last Tuesday, but it was sunny and the course dry, so it was great to be there and some great golf resulted. In A Grade Terry Wilson took the money with an excellent 22 points, from Gordon McHugh on 21 and David McNaught on 18. The brisk weather must have brought out the best in the Scots! B Grade saw a very close tussle, with Chris Sharp winning on a countback from Keith Britton, both on 18 and Ken Gallagher on 16. The NTP on 12 had John Lockwood winning the Yamba Barber Shop haircut and Keith Britton the Bean Scene Cafe voucher. Keith just missed a hole in one but did take home the “Birdies Nest” which hasn’t been won for some time. On 17 Peter Jarman won the Yamba Pro Shop voucher and the recently returned Ken Taylor the Sassafras voucher. It was great to welcome regular Yamba golfer Danny Quin to our group, as well as Victorian visitor Lindsay Hall, who played with us last time up and decided to come back for a game or two this trip. If there are any others out there who would like to join us for 9 holes on a Tuesday simply be at the course ready to play by 8am and you will be sure to find a spot with our group. Peter Jarman
