Osprey RSL Day Club Easter

Happy Easter everyone.

I do hope you enjoyed last Friday at Osprey with all our extra Easter activities, and thanks to you all for making such a grand effort with your bonnets. You managed to think outside the square this year; there were cute ones, there were clever ones and then there was June! Complete with a spray of yellow flowers in her hair, a necklace sporting a real carrot (instead of a diamond), and the biggest pair of yellow paws with painted nails. Well done everyone.

Raffle winners: first prize to June who donated it back to then be won by Helena; second prize was Pa; third was Chris and fourth Lyn.

Just because we can, and to add to the fun of the day, there were also 12 further prizes drawn for wine, chocolates and groceries. Lilly was really pleased with the fluffy white rabbit she won.

The normal weekly raffles were won by Tom who chose the savoury cheese and biscuits. Anne and Rita chose a free day pass each, and lucky June struck again and won the Pick-a-Box prize which contained a bathroom set.

A big welcome to Rita who has joined the group in her capacity as Lynn’s carer. It was so nice to welcome you to the group and I noticed, like most first-time members, you won a raffle prize. No, it’s not a fix; it just seems to happen that way.

Thanks to Talea and Lilly for helping with the table decorations, chasing the wretched hoops when they rolled away from the bunny target, and the clearing up and all the other in-house chores. Well done girls. Thanks too to Leanne for the table decorations, and Pat for the lovely white tablecloths (and washing them), and Sue for setting up. Many hands make light work.

Remember there is no Osprey on Good Friday, April 15. See you next week bright eyed and bushy tailed.

That’s all folks.
