Osprey RSL Day Club

Good morning, everyone. It’s 9.30am and I have managed to notch up 7,800 steps already with a beautiful morning walk, a quick trip to Coles and 3 loads of washing.

Why am I telling you this? Probably because I am on a wee health kick trying to get the body comfortably into last year’s clothes. And of course, to stress how important our general fitness can be, and to encourage you all to strive to be a healthier better version of yourselves. Remember. If you don’t use it, you will lose it.

Instead of exercises last Friday, we played an interesting game of “Liar, Liar”. Leanne chooses 5 of the most unusual words, and then she and Paul try to convince us with their explanation who is telling the truth, or who is lying. At this point may I say I did not get one correct answer! For those of you who read my column and would like to broaden your knowledge the 5 words were “Clinomania, Tittynope, Purlicue, Nurdle, Polydactyly”. So, you see we do more things at Osprey than talk, eat and laugh loudly.

Our numbers continue to grow. Last week we welcomed Gary to the fold, and he settled in nicely to the “table of knowledge”. Those gorgeous men think they know everything, and we are happy to let them think that. It’s sort of the reverse of “happy wife, happy life”. Seriously, they are the greatest bunch of blokes, and we love them dearly. I think we now have 12 male members which is just super. So, if you too are a lovely gent looking for good company (sounds like a lonely hearts add), please ring Leanne on 0413 101 518 and she will give you the details (still sounds like a lonely hearts add). Oh dear. Just come along and be amazed.

You may not want to know this, but Christmas is about 8 weeks away and already our Osprey Elves have begun to plan your Osprey Christmas luncheon and activities. So, start thinking about what you are going to wear on the day; lots of red, green and bling; boys you can swap the bling for braces and bright shirts. Let’s endeavour to make this the best year yet.

The all-important raffles were as follows: Pat won the plonk; free day passes for Helen and David P; pick-a-prize for Tom B.

That’s all folks.
