Orchid Society holds Autumn Show

Lynne Mowbray | The Maclean and District Orchid Society held its Autumn Show Display over the weekend at the Maclean Bowling Club. The society which has been going for 27 years attracted a large crowd to the event. This year’s Autumn Show saw 235 plants displayed by 16 exhibitors from as far away as Woolgoolga. The star of the show was an entry by Peter Furniss of Woombah with his exhibit; Rothschildianum Mary Helen. The massive display boasted 780 flowers and 110 spikes and took out Grand Champion, Specimen Champion and Champion Exotic Species.
