Australia’s first king of pop, singer/songwriter Normie Rowe played at the Maclean Bowling Club on Friday night.

It was evident at Friday night’s performance that Australia’s most popular pop singer of the 1960’s still loves to entertain his audience.

Last year, the ex-Vietnam veteran released his stirring version of the Australian ballad Compulsory Hero, to mark 50 years since his conscription to the Australian Army.

His moving rendition of this song on Friday evening saw Rowe receive a standing ovation from his audience.
