New Aged Care jobs in pipeline at Maclean

Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has announced additional ongoing funding of more than $1.8 million per year for 30 new Residential Aged Care places in Maclean. “This is great news for our aging community and also great news for those looking for work in the expanding aged care sector with about 40 new local jobs,” he said. “This additional funding will allow for the expansion of Whiddon’s residential service in Maclean to further meet the needs of the local community. This means not only new jobs in Aged Care but also new local construction jobs during the building phase”. Whiddon Maclean’s Director Care Services, Jenny Pratten, also expressed her delight at the allocation of new residential places for the region, saying that the new places will go a long way to meet the growing need for residential care in the area. “This is a great boost for Whiddon and we look forward to announcing our plans for these new residential places over the coming 6 months,” Ms Pratten said. “As with our expansion in Grafton, these new residential places will mean up to 30 additional employment opportunities for local people and a temporary boost to construction related roles while the building project is underway,” she said. Mr Hogan has announced an increase in ongoing funding for Aged Care places across the Northern Rivers of almost $13 million over the last two years.
