The trial of John Edwards, who is accused of the alleged murder of his estranged wife Sharon Edwards, began in the NSW Supreme Court in Coffs Harbour, on Monday 28 October.

The 55 year-old mother, grandmother and dedicated local teacher was last seen alive on Saturday 14 March 2015, after spending the evening out with friends. Her body has never been found.

Strike Force Burrow was set up to investigate the disappearance of the Grafton woman and in June 2017 Mr Edwards was arrested and charged with the murder of Sharon Edwards.

The trial is expected to run for around five weeks.
