More places to walk and ride in Maclean and Lower Richmond Valley

Some of the best places to go for a walk or a bike ride in the Clarence and Richmond Valley are about to get even better thanks to new partnerships between the Nationals in NSW Government and the two local councils, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.
‘We are providing Richmond Valley Council and Clarence Valley Council a total of more than $400,000 to design extra pedestrian/cyclist shared pathways,” Mr Gulaptis said.
In the lower Richmond Valley, there will be a new pathway along Broadwater Evans Head Road linking up two existing pathways, while in Woodburn a new pathway will connect walkers and cyclists a far as Wallum Drive on the way to Evans Head.
In the Lower Clarence, a pathway along Cameron Street will connect to Jubilee Street at Townsend providing a shared pathway all the way to the Maclean CBD.
Mr Gulaptis said it was part of an ongoing major investment by the Nationals in Government acknowledging people’s desire for more active and healthy lifestyles in their communities.
“We’re lucky to have some proactive Councils that we have developed great partnerships with and that is what is delivering not just better petrol-free transport, but also upgraded sports facilities and playgrounds,” Mr Gulaptis concluded.
