While our Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter pilots, crew, medical teams and engineers have been working hard to ensure our Service can be on standby ready to respond 24 hours a day, it is the support of our community & sponsors that enables patients to be transported free of charge, 365 days a year.
Events are a major part of this support and we are pleased to report that we recently held three successful events: our annual Wills Week promotion helped to raise over $40,000; our Tenterfield Volunteer Support Group staged their annual golf day raising over $25,000 and our Tweed Coast Charity Walk attracted approx. 500 entrants last month. Added to this was the celebration of some birthdays for our Op Shops with Yamba enjoying 5 years of support from its local community, Tenterfield 3 years and last Saturday our Ballina store reached its 9 year milestone.
Our sights are now set on preparing for our ‘End of Financial Year Appeal’ due to start in May, our first ever ‘Chopper Paddle’ event on the Clarence River (April 28) and our ‘Ballina to Byron Coastal Charity Walk’ on May 26.
