A new member, Gloria Connor, was welcomed to Maclean Women’s Bowling Club on Tuesday November 24. The president reported that they had a great trip to Tewantin where they enjoyed a game of bowls followed by shopping in Montville the next morning. Congratulations to the members who successfully completed and passed the marker’s course. President Margaret thanked Shirley and Janet who conducted the course. The Christmas party on Tuesday December 8 will close this bowling year. Bowls will resume with social games on Thursday January 28, 2016. There are entry forms in the locker room for Championship Pairs on Tuesday February 2, closing on Tuesday January 19, Major/Minor Fours on Monday February 15, closing on Monday February 8, and Major Singles on Tuesday February 23, closing on Tuesday January 19. The Major/Minor Fours teams must consist of two majors and two minors. The cost is $80 per team which includes morning tea and a light lunch. Morning tea will be at 8.30am and play starts at 9.00am. There will be two games of eighteen ends or to the bell. Prizes will be $400 for the winning team,$300 for second, $200 for third and $80 for round winners. The next general meeting will be on Tuesday February 9.
