It was certainly ‘on again’ at Maclean View Club’s big fundraiser for the year, “Death by Chocolate” at the Maclean Civic Hall last Saturday. It was ready, set, go at 9am when the doors were opened to greet our first customers, to take advantage and grab a bargain at all th e tables full of goodies, bric-a-brac, cakes and slices, strawberries dipped in chocolate from the chocolate fountain, books, and beautiful craft items. Morning tea was served by our keen members, with everyone enjoying a cuppa and a chat. Things got a particularly hectic around 11am when we had a big rush of customers, all eager to see what was on offer, and to get a “chocoholic” bargain. The day wouldn’t have been such a success without the help from our sponsors, CHESS and Botero Coffee, and we thank them accordingly; also a big thank you to our helpers on the day and to those who donated cooking, craft items etc. The day came together to be a most successful one for all who took part, with funds raised on the day going to the Smith Family “Learning for Life” students that our club supports. Do have a look at our Facebook page for more pictures of the day, and for information about the Club and upcoming activities. Rosemary Rackham
