Squash Last week we had a lot of five set matches. Match of the week was between Torben Mickelson & Daniel Butt. Torben coming out strong to win the first two sets, Daniel made a great comeback to win the next two, but it was Torben that took out the match on the last point 17-16 & winning on points (69-66); John Auckram & Matt Grainger had another five set match. Going game for game & point for point in the final set, it was John that came away with the win 17-14 & scored 76 points out of a maximum 83 for the match. Damien Rutkoski def Sebestain Fear 15-11, although Damien was two sets down, but Sebestain beat him on points (68-66); Andy Potter def Paul Tarasenko 15-10; Chris Shannon def Gordon Hogue 15-10; Allison Bennett def Kirsty Gooley 15-9; Peter Greenland def Rob Hodson 15-8; Cliff Dredge def Lucas Lynch 15-8. Cricket Last weeks results: Yamba def Maclean Motors, Gio’s Gents def Baby’s Arms & Lawrence def Brushgrove. Last competition game before semi-finals start. Volleyball Last week we had the grand final of the Indoor Volleyball Competition. Junior Magpies def Jetsters 3-1 in a great match lasting 80 minutes, with the best match played at the centre since Volleyball started. Junior Magpies Husband & wife Gary & Karen Cooper where there best players, celebrating 28yrs of marriage last week. Other team members where Greg Graham, Michelle Tunks & Craig Hughes making up a very strong team. Zac Lynn was Jetsters best with some great serving, & great support from James Fuller. New competition will be starting this week, so if there is anyone interesting in nominating a team or as a individual you should contact the centre as soon as possible. Futsal Juniors – Good number of juniors showing up again last week for futsal, it goes to show why its the number one sport played at the centre. If there is any juniors interested in playing, you should come along on a wed afternoon & we will put you into a team. Cost only $3. Seniors – New competition starting this week. We would like to welcome a couple of new teams to the competition. All games must starting on time. Netball Last weeks results: Bottoms Up def Who Cares 19-10 & Fired Up def The Legos 26-14. New competition starting soon. All new players & new teams made most welcome. All referees, bibs supplied & no rego fees. Congratulation to Iluka Public School who defeated Pottsville Public School 30-18. These girls are now off to Sydney in two weeks time to play state. Good luck girls.
