Squash Last week we had a couple of close five set matches. Match of the week was between Peter Greenland & Daniel Butt. Going game for game & point for point in the final set it could of went either way, but it was Peter that won the match 15-13. Toby Gray def Rob Hodson 15-11. Toby coming out strong to win the first two sets, Rob made a great come back to win the next two, but it was Toby that come away with the win in the final set, Joel Power def Nick Plummer 15-10 & Adrian Sonter def Mark Webb 15-8. Cricket In a couple of close matches last week, we had a great match between Brushgrove & Yamba who had a 129-129 draw. Best for Brushgrove was Carley Lesson who top scored with 34 runs & Michael Woods 4/3 & for Yamba Lachlan Dougherty top scored with 31 runs & Kalllen Lawrence taking 2/15 & scoring 20 runs. GIO’s Gents def Lawrence 73-64. GIOs Gents Billy Blanch scoring 23 runs & Jarrod Moran taking 4/-2 & Lawrence Bryce Causley scoring 26 runs & taking 3/-15. Maclean Motors def Baby’s Arms 77-44. Maclean Motors Michael Essex top scoring with 33 runs & Lee Johns scoring 31 runs & 3/-18 & Baby’s Arms Brad Hollington scoring 19 runs & taking 3/-1 & Jeremy Walters 4/0. Volleyball Last week we saw the semi-final of the indoor volleyball competition, between Junior Magpies & Keepers, both teams were short a player due to sickness it was always going to be close, but it was Junior Magpies that came away with the win 2-0. New competitions starting soon, so if there is anyone wishing to nominate a team or as a individual, you should contact the centre. Futsal Juniors – Great numbers of juniors showing up again last week, this game is just getting more & more popular. If there is anyone interested in playing this great game, you should come along on a Wednesday afternoon at 3.45pm. Seniors – Last week we had the grand final of the futsal competition between undefeated Jungle Juice & Coops. In a close game going right down to the final few seconds of the match, but it was Jungle Juice coming away with the win 8-6. Jungle Juice Ben Urndell scored a great goal for the opposition team. It was hard to choose the best players on either teams, because of the high standard of Futsal. New competitions starting soon, if there is anyone interested in playing you should contact the centre as soon as possible. All you need is 6 players per side & you must have 2 females. Netball Last weeks results: Fired Up def Bottoms Up 22-19, Who Cares def The Legos 28-20. New competition starting soon, all new players are most welcome.
