Maclean Senior Citizens

The first meeting for 2016 was held on Wednesday, February 3 with 45 Members attending. As December was busy for me I did not do a report for the paper, so I will report on December with this report. Our Christmas party was great with Double Trouble as entertainment. The Christmas lunch being traditional was delightful and the table decorations by Diana Starr took pride of place at the table. Each member took home a piece of plum pudding made by Allan Thompson instead of Christmas cake, thanks to Allan for making the pudding. Also a bag of lollies for each member thanks to the Committee for helping to prepare the lollies for this happy occasion. Our annual donation of $500 each to Westpac Helicopter and Maclean Hospital Auxiliary was made. At our February meeting congratulations were given to wedding anniversaries for Alastair & Betty Barnier (56 years); Bill & Val Daniels (53 years); Ray & Myra Pike (63 years). Seniors Week is being held on Wednesday, April 6 and arrangements for this day will be discussed at a meeting of Committee and executed after our March meeting. Our April meeting will be held on the 13th as Seniors Day falls on our meeting day, so our meeting will be held a week late. Please make a note of this in your diary. Tombolas and raffle prizes would be greatly received for our day for seniors. See you all at our March meeting at 10am. Bev Thompson
