John Gorman continues his good form taking out Wednesdays Skins event with a total of 6 skins from Geoff Greenwood and Brian Williams with 4 skins each. A big thank you to Brian and his helpers for taking down the huge dead tree on the 10th hole last Sunday. Well done.
Thursdays Medley Stableford saw a great win for Michael Emmanuel who carded 41 points. The runner up was Robert Richards with 40 points. NTPs went to Peter Hamilton on the 2nd, Nick Fuller the 7th, Courtney Fuller the 11th and Jeffrey Miller the 17th. Pro balls ran down to 35 points on a c/b.
Noel Butcher was lamenting the fact that he has the yips on the 17th hole with his ball attracted to either the fence or the dam. This was not the case in Saturdays Medley Stableford however, with Noel carding a fantastic 45 points to easily beat the field and take out first place. Well done Butch. Runner up went to Mike McGowan on 39 points on a c/b from Terry Adcock in 3rd place. NTPs went to Geoff Greenwood the 2nd, Terry Adcock the 7th, Geoff Dickinson the 11th and Craig Slater the 17th. The Thistle Hole was not won. The ball rundown went to 32 points on a c/b.
Social groups from Ballina RSL and the Burleigh Bears also played and enjoyed their day out at Maclean.
The Maclean Junior Open, part of the Northern Rivers Junior Circuit, will be played on Sunday May 1. A big field will be in contention for the trophies on offer from our very generous sponsors P&J Financial Planning and D.W. Brown Accountancy.
A reminder that anyone wishing to play Pennants must put their name in this week on the sheet in the Clubhouse.
Don’t forget Shelley’s Bistro on Friday nights and the popular BBQ breakfast on Saturday mornings.
Next Saturdays event is a Medley Stableford with trophies kindly donated by new sponsor Michael Endean of A-1 Plumbing.
The course is in fantastic condition so come out to Maclean and “Take the Challenge”.
